Given the fact that training camp and started and the Hall of Fame Game is this weekend (August 8th at 7), Cincy vs. Dallas (oh yes there will be drama and ESPN won’t shut up about it) I thought it was appropriate to do a preseason analysis of the NFL. Let’s start with the NFC. (I’ll do the AFC later this week)
Best NFC Teams
New Orleans Saints
Green Bay Packers
Minnesota Vikings
*I can’t do anything else but put the Saints at number one. They return almost everyone from a team that won the Super Bowl. The other teams that have the best shot at overthrowing them are the Packers and Vikings. If Brett Favre doesn’t come back (yea right) then the Cowboys are the 3rd best team.
Worst NFC Teams
St. Louis Rams
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Detroit Lions
*Yes, I did predict the Lions not to be worst! Not even second worst! The Rams just won’t be good. Period. All these things have a lot of things in common; their offensive line play is very questionable, no D, and hardly any playmakers. I don’t see a way out for the Bucs, at least right now. Lions have the best upside, no question.

*ESPN has a love affair with the Cowboys. There is no way this team is the 4th best in the entire league, not even close. This team is good, but not that good.
Most Underrated Team
San Francisco
*This is my sleeper pick. I love everything about what the 49ers are doing with Mike Singletary. Vernon Davis is a top 3 Tight End (This guy ran a 4.38 40!) and this team plays strong D. Oh, how could I forget about Frank Gore and their big offensive line.
